Unfortunately the smallest size is 48” then 55” 65” 75” and 83” I believe are the only sizes I have the 55” wanted the 48” but my store didn’t sell them
Is it a loss not having the "HDR Effect" setting or has this now been automatically integrated into SDR content? I'm confused as to why LG didn't include it.
Exactly what I thought, I noticed that was missing too, because I have the LG CX OLED TV, (and I have the Xbox One X connected to it), and I want to get the LG C1 TV because I want to get the Xbox Series X someday and I have the HDR Effect picture mode on as default, so now to get HDR picture setting you now have to mess with the settings more and go deeper into settings to get HDR picture, which will take more time to find/achieve than on the LG CX OLED TV because it doesn't have the HDR Effect picture mode like the LG OLED TV has which I like better because it was faster/easier to find to get HDR.

Disclaimer: Actually AI brightness is very useful in bringing out the details in both light rooms and dark rooms, and if users don’t want to constantly change settings as the sun sets and rises, this can be very useful.
IKR. The last thing I want to have to be doing when watching TV is to adjust the TVs settings every time the channel is changed. And there just seems to be too many settings that make the TV look bad. Why?! I mean really, why? It kinda takes the "smart" out of smart TVs.
In my experience with the CX this over brightness and washes out blacks during the day and actually dims the image at night. Didn’t like it at all. But some may like it.
At the moment i have a 48cx but waiting for a c1. The auto brightness only works in Dolby vision. I have complained to LG but waste of time. The shop is to replace it with a c1 but still out of stock after 3 months

The perfect dark space has the best picture and you can still use all the other game mode stuff like vrr and stuff
@@motherf6969 not at all !!!! Game modes boost setting for reducing Input lag is overkill and does in fact reduce image quality!! The best of both worlds is expert dark space for SDR the input lag is low to begin with because expert dark space’s setting is set to normal not off so you do get a reduction in input lag just not to the extreme of game optimiser’s boost ! and fine tune that! For HDR the tv will auto select the settings I think ! Or if you have a bright room select expert bright space ! It’s all up to where your tv is set up ie in a dark room or in a bright room, I suggest you fine tune both bright space and dark space modes ! Cheers
Hello i have a question about pixel cleaning option. If i want my tv auto clean should I click on the "Operate once when TV is off" or should i leave this sign visible what that would mean this option is enabled? I just don't get it :)
Are we getting 120hz through a fire cube, only native apps in the tv, or only on advanced gaming systems? My fire cube and firetv Max both say 60hz when I click on the setting menus in there and only see references to gaming when I tried to google the question.
I'm really curious about the brightness difference between the C1 and B1 I can't find anywhere there's only people saying it's probably like the bx vs Cx but never with the tested numbers
I was wondering too but found no reviews...some people suggested the difference is only with the chip (B1 has a cheaper one but decent enough), smaller and lighter stand (which is still fine; or maybe I'll hang the TV on a wall), and the speakers facing direction (still sounds fine; I'm planning to get a decent stereo so it doesn't matter much). I've bought B1 as there was a deal (30% cheaper than C1) and pretty happy with it. The max achievable brightness seems fine but I really have to push it to the max as the room has plenty of natural light.
I can't seem to get the expert mode picture option. I'm trying to set it up for my apple 4k tv. What should i be disabling to get this option? I just see cinema, vivid, standard, and gaming. I was able to get the expert picture option when at the LG screen but when I switch to the HDMI port with the apple tv its nowhere to be found.
So I haven't got a new TV in over 8 years and was thinking this one, are we saying I have to change all these setting for everything I watch every time I change the channel? I go from a movie to TV show and I have to change the settings? SDR to hidef and have to go into menu everytime?
Certainly not. You specify settings once and they save on that input. When that input changes to say… HDR from standard, you can select new settings and those will save for when it is in HdR, but as soon as the HdR content is gone, the TV aill automatically swap back to standard and the previously set settings will come back and vice versa
First make your setting on one input for say HDR content then click save setting on all imputes go to another input tweak the saved setting and click save on this input not all and repeat
if I set up the bright room pre set for sdr then use the bright room pre set for hdr do the changes carry over or do I have to set the bright room up again for the hdr?
I just purchased the 77" C1 an have it connected to my Yamaha RX-A850 Receiver. All my inputs go to the receiver before going to the LG C1. I use a Fire Cube connected to the Receiver to run all my aps, HBO, Hulu, Amazon, Disney, etc. The PlayStation is also connected to my receiver. Only one HDMI goes to the screen from the receiver. With all connections going through the receiver, what would be the best video settings?
I noticed in the game optimiser menu is says VRR is off. However the option for VRR and G-Sync is turned on. Can someone please explain this to me? 🙏 as mine is the same
I can’t seem to make “Apply to All Inputs” work. Take HDMI3 and HDMI4 for example. I configure both ports identically using the same picture profile and deep color setting. Starting with HDMI3 I configure the picture settings the way I want for SDR content. One setting for example is OLED brightness. I set it to 50. Finally I click on “Apply to All Inputs. Then I go to HDMI4 which is using the same picture profile and expect to find OLED brightness is now 50. But it’s still the default value of 60. It didn’t change. Don’t know what I could be doing wrong. Thoughts?

If all you’re doing is displaying a pure black image, then it should be fine. You could technically set the brightness to max but if you just have a pure black inage on screen, it shouldn’t cause any issues!
Good afternoon. I need your advice. What to do with contrasts on Samsung tv in sdr game mode? A lot of people advise to leave it at 45. Usually it's there at 50. Calibrators reduce it to 40 or 35, and raise the backlight high. But then the brightness of the general background drops.
Well, it depends what TV you're referring to. If you go to our review for the TV you have, you'll see our contrast recommendation. However, 45, 50, 40, etc that sort of thing will vary lots between users, so it's probably best to just try a few different options and see what you think looks best!
This TV in my opinion IS a little dim in all modes, once I find the time I will go back through this and re-calibrate. Is there any easy way to set this up? I saw AI auto-brightness, maybe I'll try this out. It's a nice TV but on the dimmer side for sure.
I was expecting to see color accuracy calibration info. I find the out of the box color accuracy to need some work compared to a Sony OLED. For example the grass on a football field appearing to be slightly bluish green instead of natural grass green.
I just got a C1 2021 model and im struggling with A LOT of noise, especially in dark scenes. Overall, the resolution doesn't look right either. So @rtings the preset “sport” is not good to use when watching sport ? I am always surprises that those big constructor put a lot of features in their tv and finally you just use one picture mode and disable all of the image processing feature. That’s so weird
So difficult. I just want to be able to watch soccer without having a bad picture or with too flashy color. The shop told me that c1 is wonderful with sports. Well I see that’s not the case because you advice to not use interpolation
So I use my Nvidia Shield TV to do pretty much everything... Movies (Netflix, Amazon, etc), sports, gaming (via GeForce Now, Xbox Game Pass, Stadia)... How do I manage multiple setting for the different things I do on the same input?
The TV will do pixel refresh automatically. No need to do it manually unless you see some persistent image retention. You will shorten the life of the panel.
When I'm watching films the image looks very blurry both in hd and 4k. I'm following the setup as shown in the video but image quality is very bad. What am I doing wrong? Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated thanks

In PC mode, you mentioned that you were not able to have BFI on. Does this mean that TruMotion will not work either? to remove stutter from video content from a PC source?
www.rtings.com/tv/reviews/lg/c1-oled/settings Here's the complete breakdown of our recommended settings, if we don't mention something, then it was likely left at the default!
Helped some family members pick out a TV recently, got them to go for the 65". I ended up going back and buying the 55" for my own home a few days after. I have a question though, using isf dark room, when I run an sdr black level pattern, with your settings, I cannot see all flashing blocks from 17-25, I'd say I can't see 17,18 & 19. Should I raise the brightness slightly? I'm hesitant too as everyone suggests leaving it at 50.
I prefer 55-60 for screen brightness for most TV shows and movies. I don't like it when you can't see what's in the dark areas of an image or faces have too much shadow.
Good evening! Not everyone just TV for movies only, can someone with a good heart indicate the perfect settings for watching Sky Sport 24 or football matches or "normal" TV?
Our 'sport' score should definitely shed some light on what you can expect when it comes to watching football matches. You'll want things like good Gray Uniformity, good response time and motion handling, etc. Unfortunately though, we don't have access to Sky Sport 24, so we're not sure if there are any specific issues with that platform. Sorry about that!
Tough to say unfortunately. Technically, it could be neither and may even require personalized settings for this specific model. If you want, you could always try both and see if you enjoy either. But ultimately, it comes down to what you think looks best!
Can you set a hdmi 1 to game mode an when not on it, its in movie mode and set usb and the rest of the hdmi to movie only the first hdmi will be in game mode if your on it? Have 1 hdmi on game and the rest of the tv when out of the hdmi 1 on movie
Hi! You can certainly set different picture modes for each HDMI input. So there's no issue having input 1 on Game Mode while the other inputs are on Movie mode, for example.

@H27W :I do not mind if the 42” and 48” cost the same. I just do not have the space for a 48”.
14:16 The OLED Motion Pro option in Game Optimizer is grayed out in your settings. Mine is too but I don't know how to make the option accessible to turn it on. Is there something in my settings I need to turn off for it to work?
Maybe you don’t have hdmi 2.1 as you need one to do 4K 120fps?
@@TheBadassOne17 Last time I checked I do. The hdmi cord is from a xbox series S.
Some of these selections in the settings don't show up for me.
I found it. Lol
can you update this? they don't have some of these settins still? no dark mode.
Disclaimer:
Actually AI brightness is very useful in bringing out the details in both light rooms and dark rooms, and if users don’t want to constantly change settings as the sun sets and rises, this can be very useful.
@@enark2086 I find standard is the best now this tv isn’t that bright not a qled but standard in my opinion dose make bright objects bright enough. It all depends on the content and the hdr metadata some content looks great others not so much not the TVs fault filmmaker mode and expert setting all too dark even after tweaking setting Cinema I don’t see much change and vivid is crap never use that way too blue that’s your store demo setting. I like standard

Just got my lg c1 48 inch on Tuesday best tv i have ever owned in my life Excellent tv got my on sell from Best Buy.
SAME!! 77 OR BUST!!!
Just ordered my 77" as well, wanted the 83" but oh well.
@@naxalar Got my 77" this week and it's freaking amazing! I was also debating to get either the 83" OLED but the price is to the point of diminishing returns. It's almost double the price of the 77" for only 6" vs the price and size increase from a 65 to 77. The 77" is perfect for me. Looking at it on the wall, the 83" may not have fit.
Just hooked up the 83 inch behemoth
What about settings for sport viewing?
For sports, the only thing you may want to adjust is the motion settings. These are more subjective though, so you should really play around with them to find what you like the most!
Great Video. Just go the C1 and haven't had time to play with all the settings. What setting do should you use for the Black level? Should stay n Auto?
Great TV set and thanks to you Rtings we can enjoy it more. I'm really blown away by everything this set can do and I'm sure that I'll learn more from your precious advice Rtings. Thanks guys!
I found the when I switched from standard mode to game optimised the colour has changed it looks more grey on game optimised than on standard!
Does it look washed out ? Have you find a solution for that ?
@@motherf6969 yeah it looks like you slid the grayscale over to black and white a fair bit it’s washed out definitely, and no I don’t use game optimised mode it’s shit what’s better for standard definition is perfect dark space !!!!!!! use that !!! Believe me
Game optimiser’s not worth it for the horrible input lag boost it gives it causes issues! The perfect dark space has the best picture and you can still use all the other game mode stuff like vrr and stuff
@@filiplaskovski9993 but the input lag is high outside game mode or not ?

Why would 24p content stutter on a 120hz screen? 24*5 is 120 ...
Are we getting 120hz through a fire cube, only native apps in the tv, or only on advanced gaming systems?
My fire cube and firetv Max both say 60hz when I click on the setting menus in there and only see references to gaming when I tried to google the question.
So I used this settings on my cs6la for dark room but for bright room I guess you up the Oled brightness from 50 to 100?
Best settings for Stanger things on Netflix for the LGC1:
Dejutter at 0. And black frame insertion (BFI) or oled motion pro at medium.

Can I use the same settings for the G1?
We wouldn't recommend it. You can see our G1 settings here though! www.rtings.com/tv/reviews/lg/g1-oled/settings
I'm really curious about the brightness difference between the C1 and B1 I can't find anywhere there's only people saying it's probably like the bx vs Cx but never with the tested numbers
As far as I'm aware there is no such thing as a B1 or at least I haven't found any.
@@vendettaduck1288 maybe its more for eu market

I need best gaming settings for Xbox series X
I'm surprised he said "Xbox One" I'm sure it was an accident.
@@MrStroodle thank you I was freaking out at first thinking wth when did tvs get so complicated lol
First make your setting on one input for say HDR content then click save setting on all imputes go to another input tweak the saved setting and click save on this input not all and repeat
if I set up the bright room pre set for sdr then use the bright room pre set for hdr do the changes carry over or do I have to set the bright room up again for the hdr?
ive never been a tv dude so getting this thing is such a treat with my 3080 ti. super dope.
Thoughts?
Have you changed the colors ? With a color sensor
Can this video show me why everything is blacked out, I can’t select anything in the settings

My stupid Samsung TV forces you to manually switch back and forth between HDR and SDR. Does this have an auto setting where it detects what you're watching without having to adjust anything? Does the Sony A80J have that?

If all you’re doing is displaying a pure black image, then it should be fine. You could technically set the brightness to max but if you just have a pure black inage on screen, it shouldn’t cause any issues!
Just use the “screen off” option 😅
Good afternoon. I need your advice. What to do with contrasts on Samsung tv in sdr game mode? A lot of people advise to leave it at 45. Usually it's there at 50. Calibrators reduce it to 40 or 35, and raise the backlight high. But then the brightness of the general background drops.
Well, it depends what TV you're referring to. If you go to our review for the TV you have, you'll see our contrast recommendation. However, 45, 50, 40, etc that sort of thing will vary lots between users, so it's probably best to just try a few different options and see what you think looks best!
cant access Oled Pixwl Brighness is nos accesibla and says energy saving?
This TV in my opinion IS a little dim in all modes, once I find the time I will go back through this and re-calibrate. Is there any easy way to set this up? I saw AI auto-brightness, maybe I'll try this out. It's a nice TV but on the dimmer side for sure.
How did you even manage to disable eco mode from picture settings? I could not find it, in your article about this video and settings as well.
All Settings - Support - OLED Care - Device Self Care - Energy Saving Hope this helps!
I was expecting to see color accuracy calibration info. I find the out of the box color accuracy to need some work compared to a Sony OLED. For example the grass on a football field appearing to be slightly bluish green instead of natural grass green.
We have more information on calibration in our full review/settings page. Feel free to check it out! www.rtings.com/tv/reviews/lg/c1-oled/settings
I just got a C1 2021 model and im struggling with A LOT of noise, especially in dark scenes. Overall, the resolution doesn't look right either. Im not sure if there is something wrong with the TV, but it might be that cuz i´ve watched a ton of videos and nothing seems to help. I´ve done most of the testing using the new Obi Wan series streamed on an Apple TV 4k
is there any budget receivers for the c1?
Around 1 grand. tv been out for years now.
I got the TV opened box and used for a fraction of the price.
Id just pick one up by now. I see half HDMI 4k and 8k. the TV is 4k 120hz. couple of places says 8k is HDMI 2.1. Should i worry about it. It's still like that. 120 with 4k will work fine hooked up to the 4k connection right?
I once bought a receiver hdmi 1.4 for 4k tv. Later found out no hdr. xbox one s doesn't play at all at 4k without hdr.
Hi. Is this settings good for C3 model 2023? Thanks
Nope! But we have C3 settings in our review on our website!
Hello, I bought the lg c1 but some movies/series are soo grainy it is impossible to watch.. I tried lowering sharpness, brightness, enabeling noise reduction and mpeg noise reduction but nothing helps.. If I watch the show on my dads panasonic oled or even my 1080p gaming monitor I almost not notice the grain.. Is it my tv panel or is it a lg c1 thing? Could you please check the show "ritmo salvaje" on netflix? Especially first episode at 21min it is unbareable.. Or is it a dolby thing? I notice this show uses dolby.. Or am I sitting to close? (6-7feet +-2m)
So @rtings the preset “sport” is not good to use when watching sport ?
I am always surprises that those big constructor put a lot of features in their tv and finally you just use one picture mode and disable all of the image processing feature. That’s so weird
Ultimately, it comes down to personal preference. So, if you like it then use it but it’s up to you!
So difficult. I just want to be able to watch soccer without having a bad picture or with too flashy color. The shop told me that c1 is wonderful with sports. Well I see that’s not the case because you advice to not use interpolation
What about the calibration for a Apple TV 4K?

So I use my Nvidia Shield TV to do pretty much everything... Movies (Netflix, Amazon, etc), sports, gaming (via GeForce Now, Xbox Game Pass, Stadia)... How do I manage multiple setting for the different things I do on the same input?
It’s recommended that you do the manual hour pixel cleaning after 2000h , would doing it out of the box cause any damage if you wanted to?
The TV will do pixel refresh automatically. No need to do it manually unless you see some persistent image retention. You will shorten the life of the panel.
@@steven2809 pixel cleaning does not shorten the life of the panel.
@@PlasmaNugget Well you need to think again. Pixel cleaning fully charges all pixels and done excessively can shorten their lifespan.....🙄

Is the post calibration score based after a professional calibration or just messing with the settings?
Hey John! It's sort of a "best-case scenario" based on our calibration tools and software. You can achieve a better picture quality by playing around on the settings, but it won't be the same unfortunately. Sorry about that!
But what about Windows HD Color (HDR) settings on pc? Should we set ON or OFF?
We don't have a specific recommendation for this setting unfortunately, so we likely left it at the default. Sorry about that!
Hi i dont speak much English but i have question can u help me ? I open HDMI signaling Override and i have auto Mastering peak Change this for BT2020 ?

Thxs!
Its hard to say what to do without being there to experience/troubleshoot it. If you already tried copying our picture settings and still have issues, you may have to contact the manufacturer for additional support. Sorry about that!
In PC mode, you mentioned that you were not able to have BFI on. Does this mean that TruMotion will not work either? to remove stutter from video content from a PC source?
Do we leave expert daytime as it is by default?
www.rtings.com/tv/reviews/lg/c1-oled/settings
Here's the complete breakdown of our recommended settings, if we don't mention something, then it was likely left at the default!
I don't seem to have either of the Expert modes on my TV
Good evening! Not everyone just TV for movies only, can someone with a good heart indicate the perfect settings for watching Sky Sport 24 or football matches or "normal" TV?
Our 'sport' score should definitely shed some light on what you can expect when it comes to watching football matches. You'll want things like good Gray Uniformity, good response time and motion handling, etc. Unfortunately though, we don't have access to Sky Sport 24, so we're not sure if there are any specific issues with that platform. Sorry about that!
For the CS, would the C1 or C2 settings be best? It’s got the C1 OLED screen but the C2 processor.
